Two Arrested In Connection To Double Shooting That Left Minors Hospitalized In VA: Police

Alexandria Police have arrested two Fairfax County residents in connection with the double shooting that occurred near the intersection of North Fayette and Wythe Streets in late September, authorities announced.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, authorities announced the arrests of Fitzhugh Godwin IV, 22, and Marcus Elliott, 28 following a weeks-long investigation into a shooting earlier this year. 

The arrests stem from the Sept. 28 incident where two juveniles were shot while sitting in a parked car on Wythe Street. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, one in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

Godwin was charged with two counts of malicious wounding and one count of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. 

Elliott faces multiple charges, including: 

  • Two counts of malicious wounding;

  • Two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony;
  • Conspiracy to commit malicious wounding;
  • Shooting into an occupied vehicle;
  • Violent felon in possession of a firearm.
