Man Fatally Struck By Amtrak Train In Virginia, Police Investigating (Developing) A man was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in Fredericksburg on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 30, sparking an investigation by local and federal authorities, police said. Officers from the Fredericksburg Police Department responded to a call at approximately 4:25 p.m. reporting a pedestrian near the train tracks in the 200 block of Lafayette Boulevard.  When they arrived, they found the man dead at the scene, officials said. Yeraldin Pardo, 28, of Lincolnia, was on the elevated tracks at Accotink Park Road in Springfield with her 8-year-old son and 28-year-old Diego Arriaza, of Annandale, around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, county police said. Woman, 27, Killed By Car In Virginia Survived By 2 Young Daughters Support is on the rise for the two young girls who lost their 27-year-old mother over the weekend in Prince William County. Carla Mejia, who also goes by Casey, was struck by a vehicle while walking in the westbound lane of Minnieville Road in Woodbridge wearing all dark clothing around 11:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, Prince William County police said. The striking vehicle did not stop at the scene near Bobcat Court, police said.
