At Least 45 Seniors Displaced By Fredericksburg Apartment Fire: Report

More than 45 seniors are said to have been displaced by a fire that broke out at an apartment complex in Fredericksburg, Potomac Local reports.

The fire occurred at the Madonna House at Belmont, located in the 2600 block of Cowan Boulevard, around 10 p.m. on Monday, May 16, the Fredericksburg Fire Department said on Facebook.

The fire, which was confined to an attic, caused significant damage to one wing of the building, Potomac Local reports. No injuries were reported and all occupants were accounted for, Fredericksburg fire said. 

The American Red Cross was on site assisting with those who were displaced. Residents were allowed back into the building Tuesday morning, Potomac Local reports. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
