Officers were called around 1:45 p.m. Monday, April 14, to the store in the 12100 block of Sunset Hills Road in Reston, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Detectives said the suspect, 24-year-old Jonathan David Bavon, who has no fixed address, was found hiding inside a clothing rack after he “inappropriately touched” a victim inside the store.
Bavon was arrested at the scene and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with:
- Aggravated sexual battery;
- Simple assault;
- Obstruction of justice.
He was also served a warrant from an unrelated case. Police say he is being held without bond.
Investigators confirmed the incident happened inside Target and are now asking anyone with information—or others who may have had inappropriate contact with Bavon—to contact the Major Crimes Bureau.
