Several Fairleigh Dickinson University students and staff members are being quarantined after one student tested positive for COVID-19 at the Florham Park campus -- just one day after some classes had resumed in the classroom. One of the seven elementary schools in the Morris school district reported a positive COVID-19 case, less than one week after classes started. District officials did not reveal whether the case at Hillcrest Elementary School came from a student, staff or faculty member. Hawthorne's Borough Hall has been closed indefinitely to the public after two employees tested positive for COVID-19. The Lafayette Avenue building had reopened to the public July 13, when the borough had no active cases of the virus, according to Mayor Richard Goldberg. There are currently five COVID-19 cases in Hawthorne. The municipal employees are treating themselves at home and do not require hospitalization, NorthJersey.com reports. Family and friends of a nurse's aide at the Paramus Veterans Home say she died of coronavirus despite the fact that state officials who run the home say otherwise, NorthJersey.com reports. An Englewood bagel shop has closed after failing health inspections this month, a recent report says. Binghamton Bagel Cafe was the only eatery that earned an unsatisfactory rating from the local health department so far this month, NorthJersey.com reports.
