Northern Lancaster County Region police were called to “ reports of a male guest running around the lobby of the Hotel naked” at the Holiday Inn Express located at 101 Crosswinds Drive in Lititz, Warwick Township at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, according to a release by the department.

When police officers arrived they found a man wearing underwear and a bathrobe.

The man told them the toilet in the room he was staying in had overflowed— flooding the hotel room—but when he called the lobby for help or at least a plunger, the manager refused to bring it up, according to the release.

Instead, the man was told by the manager “that he would have to go to the Lobby to retrieve it,” as stated in the release.

When the man went to the lobby, “an argument then ensued between the two.”

It is unclear if he ever got the plunger or what happened with the flooding hotel room.

“Despite the desire for criminal charges by hotel management,” police say, “ elements of the (offense) were not met.”

They added that the man was having an emergency and “there was a reasonableness to the acts of the involved individual,” police concluded.

Police cleared the scene, but it remains unknown if the man will end up with an additional fee for the flooding based on the Holiday Inn’s liability police.
