Quintir Simmons of the 700 block of East Prospect Street in York City died by homicide from multiple gunshot wounds and was declared deceased at 10:32 a.m. as declared by Deputy Coroner Karen Frank, according to the release.
Police officers had been called to the shooting where Simmons was found in the 100 block of East Maple Street at 9:34 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found him to have "sustained injuries from a shooting," police said.
He was taken to an area hospital and died within the hour, according to the police release.
"A known suspect remained on scene and is cooperating with police," the police stated in the release.
The investigation is ongoing.
