Meth, Cocaine Philly Drug Ring Halted In Central PA: DA

Two Philadelphia drug dealers have been arrested while operating a drug ring from Lancaster to Philadelphia, according to the county's district attorney's office.

Jayson Burton and Paul William Clifton were caught with meth, cocaine, a gun, and over $2,000 in cash in a secret compartment during a traffic stop in central Pennsylvania.

Jayson Burton, 33 of Locust Street, Philadelphia, and Paul William Clifton, 31 of Pine Street, Philadelphia, were in 2018 Gray Infinity during a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street in Lancaster just before 4 p.m. on Monday, May 16, according to the release by the DA's office.

East Hempfield Township police and a K9 searched the vehicle— finding a hidden compartment behind the front passenger seat— where police discovered 149.6 grams of cocaine, 28 grams of methamphetamine, a Glock model 36 .45 caliber handgun, and $2,510 in cash, according to the release.

Burton and Clifton were arrested and charged with felony counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine, criminal conspiracy and carrying a firearm without a license.

Both defendants were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Bruce A. Roth and held in the Lancaster County Prison in lieu of bail— set at $500,000 cash for Burton and $400,000 cash for Clifton, according to the police and court records confirm.

Both men have preliminary hearings scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Roth at 9 a.m. May, 25, according to their court dockets.
