Single-Dad ID'd As Driver Who Died In Crash Into 2 Utility Poles, Stone Wall, Fire Hydrant

A beloved, son, brother and father has died in a box truck crash into two utility poles, a stone wall, and a fire hydrant in the 2000 Block Lititz Pike/PA 501 in at 4:11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, police say.

Manheim Township police were called to investigate the crash and determined that—- the driver, Justin Stapleton— was heading northbound when he left the roadway on the eastern side, striking the previously mentioned utility poles, stone wall, and fire hydrant— and flipping the truck onto the driver's side—- requiring emergency crews to extract him from the truck, according to a release by the department.

Stapleton “was an avid gun collector. He loved his cars - especially the Subaru WRX STI named Blue. He enjoyed horror movies, Halloween being his favorite, and going out to eat. He was a big fan of Power Rangers and Game of Thrones. He adored his cats, Vladimir and Archie and especially loved his daughter,” as written in his obituary. 

He was 2006 graduate of Cocalico High School and was working as a mail courier for Koppenheffer and Son Trucking, Inc. at the time of the crash, according to his family.

Stapleton’s dad Randy launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family cover the funeral expenses, so far the campaign has raised $2,660 of $10,000 goal from 37 donors.

Randy writes in part, “This is a tragedy for everyone involved and we were not prepared for this.”

Justin Stapleton is survived by his parents, Randy Stapleton and Ruth Stapleton (Zimmerman) of Denver, Pennsylvania, his sister Alicia Stapleton of Denver; his niece Aubrey Snyder; and his nephews, Parker Snyder and Juelz Colon, and his daughter Teagan— who will receive any additional funds raised by the GoFundMe campaign

His visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 19 at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home located at 533 Walnut Street in Denver.
