The fingerprints of Ivette Robles, of Bethlehem, were found on a jewelry box in an upstairs bedroom of an 86-year-old dementia patient she had been caring for in June after 30 ounces of British sovereign coins valued at $55,317 had been stolen from a box near it, the outlet reports citing court papers.
Robles, 47, had reportedly been acting suspiciously since she first started providing care for the woman — taking a long time to answer the front door when a family member visited toward the end of her shift, and leaving evidence of her rummaging through the basement and upstairs areas, where she hadn’t been allowed to enter, the report says.
Robles was charged with felony counts of burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, theft, and financial exploitation of an older adult or care-dependent person, the outlet says.
