The tractor-trailer carrying eight rolls of plastic crashed between exits 41B to Lemoyne and 40B to New Cumberland around midnight.

One of the rolls hit an SUV head-on-- totaling the vehicle, according to West Shore Bureau of Fire.

Another roll of plastic traveled about 1,000 feet away from the scene of the crash, down the southbound lane.

“As a train was passing through town, a very loud noise was heard by the members,"  said West Shore Bureau of Fire in its Facebook. "At first it was thought that the train derailed but when we got outside we realized that a tractor trailer had overturned on the ramp from 83 North to 581 West. Chief 13 immediately called the incident in and began checking for injuries."

Only minor injuries were reported.

The truck blocked both sides of the highway for several hours.

At least one ruptured tank, causing a diesel fuel spill.

State police have not released a statement on the incident.
