Lancaster County Man Held On $1Mil Bail After Stabbing Roommate In Chest, Say Area Police

A bleeding man walked into a bar in New Holland Borough on Wednesday, according to area police.

Miguel Alejandro Martin, 24, of New Holland, has been was arrested for stabbing his roommate, say police.

Police were called to a welfare check near an area bar at 74 Diller Avenue just before 3 p.m.

A man was seen walking behind a bar-- which he had previously been banned from.

Police found the man, later identified as Martin, lying in the grass, with stab wounds on his arms.

While giving Martin first aid, police were called to 74 Diller Avenue.

Upon arrival the police found a 22-year-old, man stabbed in the chest.

Both men were taken to a local hospital.

Martin told police he and the man he stabbed live together.

When he arrived home that afternoon he went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, then walked to his roommate's bedroom and attempted to stabbed him, police say Martin told them in an interview.

The men had a fight that ended when Martin stabbed his roommate in the chest.

Martin has been charged with a felony for attempted homicide.

He's being held in the Lancaster County prison in lieu of $1 million in bail.

His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 9 at 9 a.m.
