A man who used a crowbar to steal from a money box inside a roadside food stand is wanted by police, East Lampeter Township Police announced on Tuesday, July 30. The theft happened at 133 Buckwalter Road in Lancaster on July 23, as detailed in the release. They explained the incident as follows: "The pictured subject was involved in breaking into a money box and removing the contents. The male had a crowbar and forcefully pried the money box open. A 53-year-old gunman seriously assaulted someone before he barricaded himself in his home and fired two shots on Monday, police announced the following afternoon. A 74-year-old man has been identified after he died at a hospital after being struck in a Central Pennsylvania crosswalk, police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Tar Pee Tu of Charles Road in Lancaster, was struck in the crosswalk in the first block of Pitney Road in Lancaster at approximately 11:13 p.m. on Sept. 2, the East Lampeter Township Police Department detailed in a release. Threat Closes Central Pennsylvania Middle School
A threat at a middle school in central Pennsylvania has led officials to cancel cancels on Friday, Nov. 18. Conestoga Valley School District officials canceled classes at Gerald G. Huesken Middle School due to a "specific threat" made sometime on Thursday night, Superintendent Dave Zuilkoski wrote in a letter to parents. A 3-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle in Lancaster on Wednesday, Nov. 16, authorities say. Emergency crews were called to the crash at Old Philadelphia Pike and Campus Drive in East Lampeter Township around 10:55 p.m., according to Lampeter Township police. The car had been heading east when "the child entered the roadway from an adjacent driveway on the south side of the road," and the boy lives in the 1600 block of Old Philadelphia Pike, the police stated in a release the following morning.
