: Cat Shot In Face, Middletown Police Say
A cat was found shot in the face and neck in Central Pennsylvania, police announced on Tuesday, March 12. The Middletown Borough Police Department has launched a "criminal investigation" after the cat was found in the 100 block of West Water Street in the borough. The cat had "several injuries on its face and neck which were the result of being shot with a BB gun," police said noting that "the injuries are believed to have been inflicted late last week." Feds Put Stop To Animal Transporter Year After Crash Left Monkeys Running Around Pennsylvania
The animal trucking company involved in a high-profile crash that had escaped monkeys running around Pennsylvania has been shut down by federal officials. PETA apparently submitted evidence to the US Department of Transportation that Quebedeaux’s Transport appeared to be illegally transporting monkeys to labs, the organization said in a news release. 20+ Animals Burned Alive In Pennsylvania Wildlife Refuge Center Fire: Report
Over 20 animals at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Schuylkill County were killed in a fire early on Monday, Dec. 5, according to a report by WFMZ. The blaze broke out at the main clinic building of the Red Creek Wildlife Center in Wayne Township at around 8 a.m., the report says. A refuge employee told the outlet that every animal in the building perished in the fire.
