More Than $200K In Cash, Drugs, Guns Seized Busts At Long Island Daycare Facility, Residence

Police seized more than $200,000 as well as drugs and weapons and apprehended four people following an investigation into a Long Island residence that also serves as a daycare facility and a second residence.

In response to information received from the community, the narcotics investigation into activity at Channel Daycare in Bay Shore, located at 206 Delaware Ave., was initiated by the Suffolk County Police Third Squad Special Operations Team, in conjunction with the Long Island Heroin Task Force, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, and Criminal Intelligence Section detectives. 

The investigation revealed narcotics were being dealt out of the residence.

A search warrant was executed at Channel Daycare at approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, and, according to Suffolk County Police, detectives seized the following:

  • More than $173,000, 
  • Two loaded 9mm handguns with extended magazines, 
  • Ammunition, 
  • Approximately 600 grams of cocaine, 
  • 60 grams of fentanyl, 
  • Packaging materials consistent with narcotic drug sales

The daycare owner, Magodeiry Landron, age 50, of 206 Delaware Ave., was arrested and charged with the following:

  • First-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 
  • Criminal possession of a firearm, 
  • Criminal possession of a weapon, 
  • Second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia,
  • Endangering the welfare of a child. 

Her son, Rafael Landron, 34, also a resident of the home, was charged with:

  • First-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance,
  • Two counts of criminal possession of a firearm,
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon,
  • Three counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia,
  • Endangering the welfare of a child. 

A child related to both individuals was in the house at the time the warrant was executed and was released into the custody of a family member.

A short time later, detectives executed a second search warrant at the home of Magodeiry Landron’s son, Anthony Dominguez, located at 4 Arbell Drive in Brentwood, and seized the following:

  • An additional $66,000, 
  • 9 mm Glock with two extended magazines and ammunition. 

Dominguez, age 29, was charged with the following:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon,
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

His girlfriend, Crystal Rivera, age 30, a resident of the home, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Criminal possession of a firearm, 
  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, 
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. 

Two children who live in the residence were released into the custody of family, said police.

Magodeiry Landron and Rivera were held overnight at the Fourth Precinct. Rafael Landron and Dominguez was held overnight at the Third Precinct. 

All four are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday, April 18.

The Suffolk County Police Emergency Service and Canine Sections were on scene during the execution of both warrants. 

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services and Suffolk County Child Protective Services were both notified.
