Francis E. Templin, of Shartlesville (Berks County), was arrested on Saturday, June 4, and charged with felony retail theft after cops executed a search warrant on his car in a parking lot at the shopping center, Buckingham Township police said.

Peddler's Village has been plagued by retail thefts in a variety of stores since December 2021, according to police.

An ensuing investigation found that a man believed to be in his 60s was captured on surveillance stealing a computer around that time, police said. On May 29, the same man stole "several pieces of merchandise," they said.

On June 4, the same suspect, later identified as Templin, returned to the village but was stopped by officers after someone recognized him, police said.

Cops recovered merchandise from his car and are attempting to identify it, they said.

The investigation remains ongoing and Templin is expected to be charged with other retail theft incidents.

He was released on unsecured bail.
