The school bus driver, Alison Kauffman, 74, of the 2300 block of the Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, “entered into the intersection without proper clearance while attempting to turn left from Hollow Drive onto Graystone Road,” police say.

The unlawful turn of the bus— caused it to hit a 2018 Honda Civic, driven by John A. Eder, 64, of the 1600 block of Colonial Manor, Lancaster, who suffered a minor injury in the crash, according to the Northern Lancaster Regional police.

Thirty-two students from East Petersburg Elementary School were on the bus en route to their school during the crash around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, police say.

One student sustained an injury as a result of the accident, but no one required a trip to the hospital from the scene, police say.

A dashcam on the school bus captured the entire crash, according to the police.

The driver of the bus has been cited with a summary charge for duties at a stop sign and she will be required to take a drug test per protocol, the release states.
