A tractor-trailer and a 2020 Ford Escape collided in 2900 block of Lincoln Highway East/Route 30 around 7:40 a.m., according to East Lampeter Township police.

For an unknown reason the Ford Escape, which was heading westbound, crossed over into the opposing lane-- striking an eastbound white 2001 Volvo VNL truck tractor pulling a trailer, according to an updated release by police.

The truck then went off the road, striking a utility pole, before coming to it’s final resting place in an embankment, according to the release.

Both vehicles were totaled and the roadway was closed from Ronks and Leacock roads for three hours as Ronks Fire Company worked to extract the occupants of the Ford and begin investigations, police say.

The driver, Tyeanna Monae Morris, 24, of Hummelstown, and passenger, Tyjmere Edwards, 22, of Philadelphia, were both transported to Lancaster General Hospital-- where Morris later died, police say.

Edwards is in stable condition, according to the release.

The driver and sole occupant of the Volvo, Maciej Gasienica-Sobczak, 45, of Chicago was not injured, according to the release.

Morris was a mother to five children, three boys and two girls, all under the age of eight, according to a GoFundMe campaign page started by her sister, Destiny Slade.

Morris was one month away from her 25 birthday, according to Slade.

“With the holidays coming up the family doesn't have all the resources to give her a proper burial. If you could find it in your hearts anything donated is greatly appreciated,” Slade wrote on the campaign page.

The campaign has raised $100 of a $5,000 total as of Tuesday afternoon.

Morris is survived by her children, sister, extending family and friends, according to Slade and Morris' social media.

Her funeral and memorial service details have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation, anyone with information is asked to contact East Lampeter Township Police Department, Sergeant Bryan Kondras, who is the lead investigator.
