A wife, gymnast, and friend has died due to an illness her husband announced shortly after her passing. Molly E. Athorn, 33, of Palmyra "had many health issues" that worsened and sent her to a local emergency room on Thursday, Sept. 7., 2023, her husband Nate explained in a Facebook post. She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed around 5 p.m., he explained. Molly was born in Hershey on Aug. 29, 1990, and was raised in Hummelstown, according to her obituary. Hundreds of thousands of popular home products are being recalled by Honda due to injury concerns. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced this week that 391,800 Honda lawnmowers and pressure washer engines are subject to the recall due to improperly manufactured parts that can cause the starter rope to retract unexpectedly, creating an injury hazard. A 30-year-old man is dead following a serious motorcycle crash in Chambersburg on Tuesday, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Nathan Stepler was riding his 2002 Kawasaki 600 motorcycle on Lurgan Road — when he slammed on his breaks in an attempt to avoid crashing into Ralph Baylor, 72, of Newburg's 2021 Jeep as it turned left onto the road from Roxbury Road, state police explained. A shed fire left a Hummelstown man on Friday. Douglas Sweigart, 62, of Hummelstown, East Hanover Township was pronounced dead at the scene of a shed fire at 755 Laudermilch Road, Hummelstown, Dauphin Community Communications Director told Daily Voice. Pennsylvania is making history – for the wrong reason – with the first known cases of Legionnaires' disease in organ donations, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A bacteria that can cause the deadly lung disease – commonly known as Legionnaires' – has been found in two Pennsylvania lung transplant patients. Fourteen years ago Michael Evans died from stab wounds in Lancaster, but on Thursday, his accused killer was arrested in the Dominican Republic. A warrant of Carl Hunter Sr. known as "Low" was issued in 2018 in connection with the deadly stabbing of Evans. He was arrested in the Dominican Republic at 9:18 a.m. on Sept. 14, 2023.
