Major Brush Fire Burns Across Three Central PA Counties

Three Central Pennsylvania counties are battling a brush fire that started in York County, authorities say.

03/27/2023 3:29 p.m.

The first call to the fire at the intersection of Chain Saw Road and Green House Road in Franklin Township on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11:33 a.m., according to emergency dispatch.

Since then the fire spread to Kuhn Road and Maxelle Lane in Cumberland County— burning across 10 acres.

At least one aircraft is being used to douse the flames and over 60 units have been called to what crews are calling "the mountain fire."

As of 3 p.m. no injuries have been reported and no homes have caught fire.

No one was evacuated and crews have it under control but remain on the scene, according to the Monroe Fire Company.
