Honda Recalls 564K SUVs For Cold Weather Rust Risk Concern
Hundreds of thousands of Honda SUVs are being recalled due to concerns that road salt could cause the frame of the vehicle to rust and unintentionally detach parts of the rear suspension. Officials announced this week that Honda is recalling nearly 564,000 CR-V models that were produced between 2007 and 2011 that were sold in states where salt and other de-icing chemicals are used to clear roads during winter storms. Philly Mechanic Admits To Putting Phony Air Bags In Cars: Feds
A Philadelphia automotive technician pleaded guilty to putting fake Chinese airbags in cars that he sold to unwitting customers, according to federal officials. Emiliano Rodriguez, a 45-year-old Dominican national living in Philly, copped to one count of trafficking counterfeit goods and two more related counts in federal court on Thursday, Feb. 9, said US Attorney Jacqueline Romero. Century-Old Pep Boys Closing Some NJ Auto Parts Stores
Pep Boys is losing some of its pep. The century-old retail automotive chain based in Philadelphia plans to close more than 100 of its parts stores nationwide -- including several in New Jersey, according to multiple news reports. The automotive company is shifting away from auto parts stores but will keep its Pep Boys maintenance garages and tire outlets -- similar to Instant Oil Change or Mavis, reports said.
