Forbes Avenue near Braddock closed when the bridge collapsed down into Frick Park at Squirrel Hill near Regent Square on Friday around 7 a.m., according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
Emergency crews were called and a human chain quickly formed to rescue people from the vehicles that were on the bridge, according to officials at a news conference on the collapse around 10 a.m.
Crews also rappelled over 100 feet to assist with the rescue.
A gas leak was also detected so gas was temporarily shut off in the area, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
No one was trapped under the bridge and no lives were lost according to the public information officer at the scene.
The Red Cross assisted the victims of the collapse, and 10 people were evaluated by emergency medical services at the scene, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
Three people were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
The public is asked to avoid Frick Park, according to park rangers.
