Sysco Schruby, of Bristol, was found guilty of multiple counts of aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person in the shooting, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.
Schruby intended to shoot 28-year-old William Flemming, when he fired off several rounds at Flemming's 4-year-old child and three others who were standing around an SUV on Nov. 22, 2019, Daily Voice previously reported.
The DA's office obtained surveillance video showing Schruby and the man having a conversation before walking away from each other, with Schruby continuing to shout at the man's group in a heated argument in the parking lot of a store on Green Lane in Bristol Township.
Schruby got into the back seat of a silver Honda Accord, according to the video, and the car then drove past a parked vehicle where the man was gathered with his girlfriend, his 4-year-old child, and three others, authorities said.
As the car drives past, Schruby’s arm can be seen extending out the back passenger window and firing two to three times at the group, the DA's office said. Schruby then allegedly fired another shot before fleeing the scene.
Schruby testified that he did not fire the gun and that it could have been fired by someone else, but he was ducking and couldn't see who, according to the DA's office.
Schruby's sentencing was deferred to a later date.
