Woman Was Celebrating 19th Birthday Before Cheltenham Crash: Report

UPDATE: Authorities have identified the 19-year-old victim killed in a one-car crash in Cheltenham early Sunday.

The five people involved in a weekend crash in Cheltenham were on their way home from a birthday party, CBS3 reports. One person died in the crash, authorities said.

A car traveling along the 1000 block of Greenwood Avenue in the Glenside section of the township crashed into a telephone pole, trapping the five occupants inside just after 1 a.m. Sunday, according to  Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Emma Culler was celebrating her 19th birthday with friends just before the one-car crash, her mom, Jennifer Culler tells CBS3. She was sitting in the backseat.

Emma, along with three other victims, are at area trauma centers in critical condition, authorities said. She's recovering from punctured and bruised organs, her mom told the outlet.

The extent of the surviving victims' conditions was not immediately known. 

One of the five victims did not survive, authorities confirmed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
