Maryland Driver Involved In Pedestrian Crash That Left PA Teen With Serious Injuries: Police

An 18-year-old man was struck by a car while crossing a street in Hanover, on Saturday, Oct. 22, authorities say.

The victim was hit while "wearing dark clothing" and "not using a marked crosswalk," at 9:11 p.m. in the 1000 block of Carlisle Street, according to Hanover police.

He was flown to York Hospital with serious injuries, as detailed in the release. 

The teen's identity was not released.

The striking vehicle, a 2008 Pontiac G6, was driven by Kevin Shaeffer, of Westminster, Maryland, who remained on the scene.

No other information was provided by the police.
