Fentanyl, Meth, Cocaine, Ghost Guns, Cash Found In York Home Leads To Four Arrests: Authorities

Four men have been arrested after drugs, cash, and ghost guns were seized from a central Pennsylvania home, police announced on Friday, Sept. 23.

The items were found when members of the York City Police Violence Intervention Unit, York City Spec-Ops Division, York County District Attorney’s office, and the York County Drug Task Force were executing a search warrant for fugitive Matthew Hughes at a home located 1120 Stone Gate Drive on Sept. 21, according to the release. 

Officers seized the following items:

  • Approximately 21 grams of marijuana.
  • Approximately 62 grams of meth.
  • Approximately 22 grams of crack cocaine.
  • Approximately 37 grams of powder cocaine.
  • Approximately 10 grams of fentanyl.
  • A large sum of cash.
  • Five firearms including, two loaded ghost guns with extended magazines, two loaded 9mm Glock handguns, one extended magazine, and one loaded Palmetto 7.62 caliber assault rifle ghost gun with a magazine.

Two of the handguns had been outfitted with auto sears, which is a federal offense to possess, police say.

Antonio Joseph Jones, 22, Furman Milton Dennis, 19, Rashad Malik Colon, 20, and Matthew Lynn Hughes, 24, all of York, were all arrested and charged with felony firearm and drug violations., police say and court records confirm. 

All four men had other active cases at the time of their arrests and had criminal records, court documents show. 

Hughes has been held in the York County Prison in lieu of $600,000 in bail, along with Jones and Dennis— both of which had their bail set at $500,000— and all of their preliminary hearings have been scheduled before Magisterial District Judge David C Eshbach on Oct. 4 at 10:00 a.m., according to their court dockets.  

Colon has also held in the York County Prison after being denied bail by Judge Eshbach who cited the state constitution article 1 section 14, " All prisoners shall be bailable by sufficient sureties, unless for capital offenses when the proof is evident or presumption great: and the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in case of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it."

His preliminary hearing is also set before Judge Eshbach but on Oct. 7 at 9 a.m.

This search and seizure happened in the same block where Courtney Smith killed his wife Masha while their children were home, that incident happened at 1125 Stone Gate Drive in 2019, according to multiple media outlets.
