Passenger Vehicle Causes Tractor-Trailer Rollover On I-283: PennDOT A passenger vehicle caused a tractor-trailer to overturn on Interstate 283, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice on Friday, Sept. 27.  The rollover crash happened on I-283 North at Exit 2: PA 441 - Swatara at 2:07 p.m. according to Lancaster County Wide Communications and PennDOT's 511PA. The shoulder closed around 2:44 p.m., according to 511PA.  The crash involved a passenger, Schreffler tells us, explaining that that vehicle is believed to have caused the crash.  HazMat crews from Manheim Township are clearing the scene…

25-Year-Old Swatara Firefighter Dies By Suicide At Fire Station, Police Say A 25-year-old Pennsylvania firefighter died by suicide at the fire station Thursday, authorities said. The woman's name was not released as of Saturday. Swatara police responding to the fire station found the victim around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, local police said. Officers met with firefighters at the scene and learned that a 25-year-old live-in firefighter had taken her own life in her bunk room, authorities said.  Detectives responded to the scene to investigate. Police Seek Dirt Bike, ATV Riders Who Fled From Swatara Officer Authorities in Swatara are turning to the public in identifying unauthorized ATVs and a dirt bike who failed to stop for police. An officer patrolling along the  3800 block of Derry Street tried stopping the eastbound motorists on around 5 p.m. on April 8, local police said.
