Trooper Among 3 Seriously Hurt After Driver Fails To Yield On Route 283: PA State Police Three people, including a Pennsylvania State Police trooper, were seriously injured when a Volkswagen Passat crashed into a marked police cruiser on Route 283 in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, police announced on Sunday, Jan. 26. The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. near mile marker 5.9 on Route 283 East, according to a release by Pennsylvania State Police. Pedestrian Struck Near Cemetery In Lititz, Police Say Directly across from a cemetery, someone was struck by a vehicle, Lititz police announced on Sunday, July 7.  The crash happened at the intersection of South Broad Street/PA Route 501 and East Third Avenue around 2:16 p.m. on June 27, Lititz Borough of Police detailed in the release.  The driver was "attempting to turn left onto South Broad Street from East Third Avenue [and] failed to yield to the right-of-way of a pedestrian crossing the street in the crosswalk," the police stated in the release.
