Missing Reading Man's Remains Discovered After 8-Year Search
The partial remains of a Reading man who was reported missing in 2015 were located in Exeter Township, authorities announced at a press conference Monday, April 10. Anthony Rodriguez, a 21-year-old who lived on Perkiomen Avenue, was reported missing to Exeter police in May 2015, Detective Joseph Malone told reporters. Rodriguez had last been seen in the Five Points section of the township near the border with Alsace, the investigator said. An 11-year-old Berks County girl was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the chest after authorities say she was struck by a stray bullet. Police in Exeter Township were called to the clubhouse at Laurel Springs housing development on East Neversink Road just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, the department said. A now-deceased man has been identified as the suspect who killed a 26-year-old woman 34 years ago in Berks County, authorities said. With new advances in genetic genealogy, investigators were able to identify Scott Grim, who died of natural causes at the age of 58 in 2018, as the man who beat and strangled Anna Jean Kane to death and dumped her body alongside Ontelaunee Trail Road in Perry Township, Pennsylvania State Police said. Armed Rite Aid Robber Sought By Police In Berks County
Police in Berks County are on the hunt for a man accused of robbing a Rite Aid at gunpoint on Wednesday, April 13. A man wearing a gray hoodie and a tan baseball hat walked into the Exeter Township store on Perkiomen Avenue, holding a gun and demanding cash from the register around 3 p.m., police said. He took off in an unknown direction. Police did not specify how much money was taken. 2 Hospitalized After Crash With Fire Truck In Berks County: Authorities
Two people were sent to the hospital Thursday morning after their vehicle collided with a fire truck in Berks County, authorities said. The 1995 Seagrave Aerialscope truck was responding to a mutual aid call in Amity Township around 6:05 a.m. when it collided with another vehicle in the 5000 block of Perkiomen Avenue in Exeter Township, the Exeter Township fire department said.
