Berks Cops Find Drug Lab During Search Of Home: Authorities
A Berks County man is charged with manufacturing drugs after police searched his Boyertown home. Eastern Berks Regional Police officers and state troopers were investigating a "suspicious situation" at a property on the 200 block of Shaner Street when they made the discovery Wednesday, May 31, they said in a release. Inside, police said they found "various different household chemicals" being used to make an "illegal substance." A shopper at a Berks County gas station was kidnapped and robbed by a man who claimed he was armed, and police say the suspect is still on the loose. The victim was in the parking lot of the Circle K at 1255 North Reading Avenue in Colebrookdale Township at around 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, when they were approached by the suspect, Eastern Berks Regional Police said. 9-1-1 Caller Told Berks Police He Was Returning Fire — He Lied, Authorities Say
A 9-1-1 caller who told police he was returning fire when he shot at two men in a vehicle turned out to be the only gunman in the Berks County incident, authorities said. Zachary Thomas Harmon, 29, called police on July 29 saying two men that he knows pulled up to his 81 Poole Hill Road home and fired four of five shots from their car after an argument around 3:15 a.m., Douglass Township police said.
