Troopers responded to the northbound inner roadway near milepost 77 in South Brunswick at approximately 7:48 p.m. following a report of a crash, officials said. A preliminary investigation revealed that Torbjorn Vetland, of Stroudsburg, PA, was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on the right shoulder when he struck the guardrail, causing the motorcycle to overturn. State Police Name Carbon County Man Found In Lehigh River (Updated) A Jim Thorpe man was found dead in the Lehigh River on Monday, July 1, according to state troopers.  Authorities said 33-year-old Felix Dejesus was previously reported as missing and endangered by borough police before his remains were found around noon.  The investigation is ongoing and there is no danger to the public, state police said.  "Updates will be provided as to not jeopardize the integrity of the investigation," said Trooper Anthony Petroski of PSP's Hazleton Station in a statement on Tuesday, July 2.

Troopers Seek PA Man Who Disappeared In Broad Daylight In 2018 State police are seeking tips in the case of Travis Fanning.  Fanning was 30 years old when he disappeared in Hazle Township on Nov. 15, 2018, according to troopers.  His father last saw him around noon after dropping him off at the Groceries Plus at 1003 Vine Street, police said. Police Chase In Carbon County Ends In Crash: State Police A police pursuit through Carbon County ended with a wreck that sent a 20-year-old driver to the hospital on Thursday, June 6, according to troopers.  State police said they tried to stop the driver on Route 248 in Franklin Township around 6:30 p.m. He fled for 10 miles before losing control of his car and striking a tree in Towamensing Township, authorities said.  The driver, a Lehighton resident, was air-lifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest with serious injuries. State police said the investigation is ongoing.

Smith Towers, 501 High Street, just after 6 a.m., according to borough officials.  They arrived to find a blaze on the fifth floor and began "rescue and fire suppression efforts," authorities said.  The state police and Pottstown borough fire marshals are investigating the cause.
