Hearing On Challenged Provisional Ballots In Cumberland Scheduled: Officials
After numerous challenges to provisional ballots in Cumberland County officials have scheduled a hearing. The Cumberland County Commissioners have voted to conduct a hearing to review the challenges to provisional ballots. It will take place in Courtroom 1 of the Cumberland County Courthouse at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14. The hearing is open to the public. Additional information was not available. Automatic Recount Triggered in PA U.S. Senate Race Between Bob Casey, Dave McCormick
Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt announced on Wednesday, Nov. 13, that Pennsylvania’s unofficial results in the Nov. 5 general election for the U.S. Senate have triggered a legally mandated recount. The current tally has incumbent Senator Bob Casey and challenger Dave McCormick within the one-half of 1 percent margin necessary for a statewide recount, per Pennsylvania law. The unofficial totals reported by Pennsylvania's 67 counties show Robert P. Casey Jr. with 3,350,972 votes (48.50%) and David H. McCormick with 3,380,310 votes (48.93%). Hearing On Challenged Provisional Ballots In Lancaster Scheduled: Officials
After numerous challenges to provisional ballots in Lancaster County officials have scheduled a hearing according to a news release on Friday, Nov. 8. "The Lancaster County Board of Elections has voted to convene the canvas of mail in and provisional ballots," the release states. The hearing to conduct the canvas and review the challenges will take place in the Commissioners Meeting Room located at 150 North Queen Street, Suite 701 in Lancaster on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m., as detailed in the release.
