Travis Gladfelter, of Jaqueline Drive, Mount Pleasant Township, was rushed to Wellspan York Hospital following a single-vehicle crash on the 1400 block of Fleshman Mill Rd in Mount Pleasant Township at 2:53 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, according to the York County coroner’s office.
Gladfelter was pronounced dead at the hospital the following day at 10:05 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Michelle Rau. A routine toxicology test was performed but no autopsy was conducted.
Gladfelter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but what caused him to veer off the road remains unclear. Pennsylvania state police in Gettysburg are investigating the crash.
Gladfelter’s wife Melanie had struggled with multiple health issues for years— including a battle against breast cancer— and she passed suddenly on September 26, 2021, according to her obituary and a GoFundMe.
Gladfelter loved sports and enjoyed watching hockey and football with his wife, according to his social media.
