Three people were rescued from a burning home in North Philadelphia early Thursday morning, Feb. 8, fire officials told Daily Voice. PFD was called to the 5200 block of C Street near Rising Sun Avenue in Olney around 1:20 a.m., a spokesperson said. First responders arrived to find heavy fire on the first floor of a two-story home with multiple people trapped inside, according to authorities. Infant Among 7 Hurt In Northeast Philadelphia Fire, Authorities Say
An infant, two police officers, and a firefighter were among the seven people injured in a Northeast Philadelphia rowhouse blaze Thursday morning, Dec. 7, according to officials. Firefighters were called to the 6300 block of Cardiff Street in Mayfair just before 8 a.m., PFD said. Heavy smoke and flames were visible when crews arrived and firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within 30 minutes, authorities said. Firefighters Battle Early-Morning Blaze In Philadelphia
First responders in Philadelphia spent hours extinguishing a blaze at a restaurant on the city's west side on Wednesday, Sept. 6, according to authorities. PFD was called to the Italian Kitchen Pizzeria, 2035 N 63rd St. in Overbrook, around 5:20 a.m., the department said on Twitter. Photos from the scene appeared to show smoke and flames rising from the rear of the building. Officials said it took more than 65 firefighters about three hours to get the blaze under control. No injuries were reported by authorities.

As a longtime Philadelphia firefighter continues her bout with cancer, her colleagues and community are stepping up to make sure she won't fight alone.
