Body Pulled From Schuylkill River: Philadelphia Police

A man was found dead in the Schuylkill River near Center City early Friday morning, April 18, Philadelphia police announced.

Officers were called to the 200 block of the South Schuylkill River Trail around 6:37 a.m. on Friday, where a man's body was seen in the water, according to police.

Medics pronounced the man dead at 7 a.m., officials said. The recovery took place near Locust Street along the river trail, a popular pedestrian and biking area in the heart of the city.

The victim's identity has not been released, and the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation, authorities added.
