A warrant was secured on Tuesday for the arrest of Richard Walski, 46 of Luzerne County for the murder of his wife, Patricia.
On August 13, after a welfare check, Patricia Walski was foiund dead at their home at 195 Schrader St. in Larksville Borough, state police said at the time.
An autopsy determined that the wife was shot in the head and the death was a homicide. Their family dog Yukon, who went missing, was found in the Honey Pot section of Nanticoke City on Aug. 24, police said.
The Wyoming station of the Pennsylvania State Police Troop P is investigating the homicide, believed to have taken place about July 31.
Richard Walski was described by state troopers as an avid fisherman and member of the Fishing Creek Sportsman’s Association in Columbia County.
Walski is known to frequent numerous fishing locations along the Susquehanna River from the Wilkes Barre area to Towanda in Bradford County, troopers said.
Walski also is a member of a cabin in the Noxen Township area of Wyoming County, troopers said, and is known to frequent many fishing areas in New York state including the Finger Lakes, Oswego, Hampton Harbor, Watertown and the Genesee River in the Rochester area.
Walski is 5-foot 6-inches tall, 170 pounds with a buzz cut gray/white hair. He wears glasses and a goatee.
