Bucks Pedestrian Crossing Street To Catch Uber Struck, Killed By Car: Police

A pedestrian attempting to catch an Uber with friends was struck and killed by a car Wednesday night in Bucks County, authorities said.

The man was crossing North Sycamore Street in Newtown Township around 11 p.m. to catch an Uber when he was fatally struck by another driver, local police said.

The offending driver remained on scene, according to police.

The victim has not yet been identified publicly.

The street was closed for several hours in both directions from Silo Drive to Durham Road, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
