Update: The subject of this report surrendered to police, RPD said on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Authorities in Reading are asking residents to keep an eye out for a stolen truck belonging to the city's Public Works Department. Anyone who spots the yellow Ford Ranger or who can identify the pictured suspect is asked to contact investigators. Gunman Opens Fire At Cars, Flees Police In Berks County: Authorities
A suspected gunman sits in a Berks County jail cell on multiple felony charges after police say he shot at cars and made terroristic threats on Tuesday, March 28. Officers were dispatched to Railroad Avenue in the borough of Leesport at about 3 p.m. for reports of shots fired, said Northern Berks Regional police in a release. Resident Pistol-Whipped In Berks County Armed Robbery: Police
A resident was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery in Berks County, authorities said. It all went down in a house on Hafer Road in Leesport around 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, according to the Central Berks Police Department. Two men wearing black hooded sweatshirts broke into the home, and pistol-whipped a resident, who was treated and released from a local hospital, police said. A gun was fired during the robbery, but none of the victims were struck by it, authorities said. The suspects fled from the scene before police arrived.
