Lane Closures Scheduled For Stretch Of Long Island Highway: Here's Where, When Scheduled roadwork could spell delays for Long Island drivers. In the Town of Oyster Bay, State Route 106 will undergo overnight lane closures on Tuesday, Dec. 10, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. Beginning at 10 p.m., two southbound lanes of SR 106 will be closed between Old Cedar Swamp Road and SR 107 while crews remove and install overhead signage. Burglar Sought After Stealing Cash From Oyster Bay Business Police are investigating after a burglar made off with over $1,000 from a Long Island business. The break-in happened in Oyster Bay at the Lee’s Laundromat on South Street sometime overnight Monday, Sept. 9. Nassau County Police said someone pried open a rear door before stealing approximately $1,500 in cash. They then fled in an unknown direction. No description of the suspect was given. Fatal Crash: 57-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On Southern State Parkway In Oyster Bay One person was killed in a crash on the Southern State Parkway involving two vehicles. It happened around 2 p.m. Friday, May 31 in Oyster Bay. Responding New York State Police troopers observed the vehicles involved in the crash: a white Toyota Camry and a black Chevrolet Colorado.  The Colorado was overturned, with EMS evaluating the operator.  The driver, Thomas Bayer, age 57, of Lindenhurst, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he later died from his injuries.  The operator of the white Toyota Camry was transported to a local hosp…
