Tracking Dorian: Slow-Moving, Monster Storm Now A Category 5 Hurricane With 175 MPH Winds
With maximum sustained winds of 175 miles per hour as it nears the Bahamas, Hurricane Dorian was upgraded to Category 5 status at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1. The slow-moving monster storm is about 200 miles east of West Palm Beach, Florida, meandering at about 8 mph.
