A public alert went out after her husband said Garcia left their apartment to go shopping at 6 a.m. and didn’t return.

“We were actively looking for her” when Ricigliano, 55, spotted Garcia, Gennari said.

A Union City native who has since moved to the township, Ricigliano has been with the department nearly three decades. He’s written for several publications, including Guns & Weapons and New Jersey Cops. Ricigliano is a FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force liaison, as well as a certified firearms instructor. He also has two adult daughters.
