Beloved Owner Of Popular Northern Westchester Deli Dies
A well-known business owner from Northern Westchester is being remembered for constantly dropping what he was doing to help others with no questions asked. Chappaqua resident Richard Lange died peacefully at White Plains Hospital on Tuesday, April 9 at the age of 87, according to his obituary. Lange, who owned Lange's Little Store and Deli at 382 King St. in Chappaqua for several decades, was a familiar face to many in the hamlet. Home Explosion Causes Road Closure In Northern Westchester
This story has been updated. An explosion that has caused extensive damage to a home in Northern Westchester led to the hourslong closure of a stretch of Route 100 (Saw Mill River Road). The closure, following the incident that happened around 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, was between the north end of Hidden Hollow Lane to the south end of Hidden Hollow Lane. Cause Determined For Fire At Clinton Chappaqua Compound
The fire at the Northern Westchester compound of former President Bill Clinton and 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Tuesday was the result of a bathroom fan shorting out, according to New Castle Supervisor Rob Greenstein. The fire occurred in a facility for Secret Service at the property on Old House Lane in Chappaqua. The fan shorting out burned a hole in the bathroom ceiling, Greenstein said.
