Car Fire Causes Road Closure In Region
Part of a busy road in Northern Westchester was closed after a vehicle caught on fire. The blaze happened on Sunday, Nov. 17 just before 9 p.m., when flames were seen coming from a car at the intersection of Darlington Road and South Bedford Road (Route 172) in Bedford, according to the Bedford Fire Department. Arriving fire crews pulled the disabled car off the road's shoulder while they began fighting the blaze, which had spread to the engine and gas tank. Car Catches On Fire On Taconic Parkway
An early morning vehicle blaze sent up plenty of smoke on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The fire began on Tuesday, Nov. 12 around 6 a.m. on the southbound Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor, where a vehicle went up in flames, according to the Hawthorne Fire Department, which helped fight the blaze. Arriving firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the parkway's right shoulder. No injuries were reported.

Car Fire Spreads To Home, Another Vehicle In Northern Westchester
A fire inside a Northern Westchester garage soon became more complicated after spreading to the residence, nearby brush, and a vehicle containing materials that caused explosive flames. The blaze began at around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 inside a garage at a home on Giglio Court in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department. Arriving fire crews found two burning vehicles inside the garage, and discovered that the flames were extending to the home and surrounding brush. Car Engulfed In Flames On Taconic Parkway
A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely. The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page. No injuries were reported.

Car Goes Up In Flames Near Parkway In Hudson Valley
A vehicle blaze near a parkway in Northern Westchester sent a column of smoke into the air before it was put out by firefighters. The fire happened in Yorktown on Sunday morning, Aug. 25, when a vehicle was consumed by flames on Underhill Avenue near its crossing with the Taconic State Parkway, according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department. Arriving fire crews were soon able to extinguish the blaze, the department said. No injuries were reported.

A vehicle fire impacted traffic on the new Tappan Zee Bridge off the shore of Westchester County. The blaze happened on Thursday, Aug. 22 just before 11 a.m., when a truck caught on fire in the northbound lanes of I-87 on the bridge near the Tarrytown shore, according to the New York State Thruway Authority. Multiple people were injured after two vehicles caught on fire on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Monday, May 20 around 11:45 a.m., when three cars were involved in a collision on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua at Roaring Brook Road.
