Party For Marty: Stop & Shop Locations To Celebrate Robots' One-Year Anniversary
Stop & Shop is ready to party with “Marty,” to celebrate the quirky robot’s first year of operation. Last year, Stop & Shop stores introduced more than 300 stores to Marty, who patrols the aisles looking for spills and alerting employees for potential hazardous spots. According to the company, this allows employees to focus on customers, while Marty makes the rounds at certain stores. When the robot detects a potential hazard on the floor, he notifies store associates who take corrective action. St. Thomas Aquinas College Names New President For First Time In 25 Years
A veteran energy company executive with a background in education has been named the ninth president of St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, succeeding retiring President Margaret Fitzpatrick. Brian D. Daly comes to the college following a 30-year career as an executive with National Grid and its predecessor companies. Pace University Students Help Elmsford Fourth-Graders Learn STEM Skills
Students of Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems helped a class of fourth-graders learn various STEM skills during a five-week program at Alice E. Grady School in Elmsford. Former IBM Campus In Somers Could Become Private High School For 1,800 Students
The owners of the former IBM property have begun the process of getting approval from the town for their plan to renovate the behemoth building into a STEM academy boarding school for up to 1,800 students. The academy, which has yet to be named, plans to open off of Route 100 in 2020 --starting with ninth and 10th grades.
