Divers Recover SUV Submerged In Creek In Hudson Valley
A vehicle was pulled from a creek in the region after its driver’s attempt to cross the water went wrong, according to authorities. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, in Ulster County, in the Esopus Creek near Fording Place Road in Marbletown. Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a passenger managed to reach the shore safely before responders arrived. Tornado Touch Down Confirmed In Hudson Valley
A tornado touched down in the Hudson Valley region during a round of isolated, severe thunderstorms earlier this week.The National Weather Service in New York announced on Saturday morning, July 16 that a storm survey conducted in eastern Ulster County found that damage that occurred west of Kingston on Wednesday, July 13 was the result of both a macroburst (straight line winds) as well as an EF-1 tornado. Sex Offender, Felon Charged With Shooting Woman During Dispute In Area
A 43-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting a woman in the leg who was standing outside his residence while he was in a fight with another man. Ulster County resident William “Billy” Babcock, of the town of Saugerties, was arrested after he allegedly shot the woman, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph A. Sinagra.
