Oh, Deer: Fawn Rescued From Swimming Pool In Rockland First responders in Rockland County made a unique save in Chestnut Ridge after a fawn found itself caught in a precarious position trapped deep in a swimming pool that was being drained. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department and crews from the South Spring Valley Fire Department responded to a Chestnut Ridge home at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, when the animal got stuck inside the pool. The fire started around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at 116 Sutin Place in Chestnut Ridge, said the Ramapo Police Department. When police officers and firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the attic area and side of the home engulfed in flames. State Supreme Court Judge Rules Against Rockland County Measles State Of Emergency A State Supreme Court judge has ruled against Rockland County's state of emergency order banning people under the age of 18 who have not received a measles vaccine from public places. Rockland County Executive Ed Day instituted the ban last month after more than 160 measles cases were confirmed to be infected with the virus. Drunk Driver Crashes Into Home In Rockland, Police Say A local man is behind bars after crashing into a house in Rockland while driving drunk Thanksgiving evening, Ramapo Police said.
