Man Run Over, Killed By His Own Truck After Mechanical Failure In Nanuet: PD (Update) A 44-year-old Albany man was fatally run over by the food truck that he was operating after a mechanical failure forced him out of the vehicle Thursday, Dec. 5 in Rockland County, authorities said. Khurram Shahzad was traveling west in a 1994 Grumman Food Truck on Prospect Street in Nanuet when the truck experienced a mechanical issue and stalled around 3 p.m., according to Detective Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police. Shahzad placed the vehicle in park and got out of the truck.  Shahzad asked a friend, a 39-year-old man following him in another car, to assist him…

3 Women Shot Outside Restaurant In Central Nyack A suspect is on the loose after three women were shot outside a restaurant in the Hudson Valley. It happened just after 3 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 in Central Nyack, outside CY's Restaurant and Lounge, located at 37 Route 59. Arrival officers discovered a woman with gunshot wounds to her leg and abdomen, lying on the ground in front of the establishment, Clarkstown Police said. The officers, along with Emergency Medical Services (EMS), provided immediate medical aid before transporting her to Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Head-On Crash Kills Hudson Valley Woman A Hudson Valley woman was killed during a head-on crash when she allegedly veered into the oncoming traffic lane, according to Clarkstown Police. The collision occurred in Rockland County around 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at North Highland Avenue and Fairview Avenue in Upper Nyack. According to Det. 1-Year-Old Rescued From Locked Car In Hudson Valley As the temperatures soared to 98 degrees, police in the Hudson Valley rescued a 1-year-old boy from a locked car. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the Costco parking lot in Nanuet. According to Det. Norm Peters of the Clarkstown Police, an officer, found the child's father outside the vehicle who said he had accidentally locked the door with the boy inside.  Peters said the officer who could see the boy in the back seat immediately broke the vehicle window.
