Albany's Director Of Operations Taking Job In Westchester
One of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s top aides announced that he will be leaving upstate to take on a new job in Westchester. Brian Shea, the director of operations for the City of Albany is heading to Westchester, where he will serve as Rye’s newest assistant city manager beginning in February. Prior to his time in the mayor’s office, Shea was chief of staff to the mayor, serving as a chief spokesperson for the mayor and as Albany’s public information officer. Monsey Fire Department President Charged With Workers Comp, Medicaid Fraud
A respected Rockland firefighter has been charged with fraudulently collecting more than $100,000 in Workers Compensation and Medicaid payments while employed. Raphael Ziegler, 41, the Monsey Fire Department president and a former New Hempstead fire inspector, filed for and accepted the monies while out on disability and working outside jobs and running a side taxi business, said state Inspector General Leahy Scott on Thursday in a joint news release with acting Rockland District Attorney Kevin Gilleece. Cuomo Will Toughen State Election Security In Response To Russian Hacking Indictments
Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New Castle announced on Tuesday, July 16 that New York will toughen its barriers to electronic hacking in light of the federal indictments of Russians who reportedly hacked Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign emails.
