The Black Knights remained undefeated at home on Saturday and snapped a two-game losing streak when they defeated UTEP 35-21 on Saturday.
“We’re glad to have a victory. I think the guys agree that victories don’t come easy. We had to earn this one tonight," Army Head Coach Jeff Monken said after the game. "UTEP played really well and ran the ball effectively against us, particularly in the first half. We forced them into a lot in the second half and played a lot better on defense."
The first half was a back and forth contest with both teams finding the end zone twice. The Cadets took command coming out of the tunnel for the second half, opening up a 21 point lead midway through the quarter to put the game away.
Army compiled 353 yards on the ground with Andy Davidson leading the charge with 100 yards and a touchdown. Ahmad Bradshaw finished seven-yards shy of the 100-yard mark on 11 carries.
The Black Knights will trek to Houston next Saturday to square off against Rice at 6:30 p.m.
