Two Properties Facing 19 Violations For Illegal Construction Closed In Hudson Valley
Two Hudson Valley properties have been hit with 19 violations for illegal construction. The violations come after the Rockland County Office of Buildings and Codes received a complaint about two structures that were built on the backend of neighboring commercial properties, said Beth Cefalu, spokeswoman for Rockland County. After receiving the complaint, the department inspected the structures built in Spring Valley at 35 Commerce St., owned by Elegant Party Rental, and 37 Commerce St., owned by 37-39 Commerce, Cefalu said. An illegal Hudson Valley nightclub that operated as a printing company by day and a club by night has been closed and cited with 10 hazardous code violations. The Rockland County Office of Buildings and Codes closed the club that operated a night out of Sharp Shirt Printing at 42 Grove Street in Spring Valley, the department said. Police have nabbed the man who allegedly hit and killed another man who was crossing a street and then fled the scene.
